I just bought a 2008 Accord v6 Coupe Auto with every option, even one I didn't know it had! Somehow I pushed the right combination of key regular fob buttons and got it to remote start (but not stop!). So this must mean it had the remote start option. It only came with one key - so how do I get the correct remote starter fob and also a second key without suffering the stealership prices? Love the car - it's my 10th Honda( if you include my motorcycles).

ANY clue where I can buy an affordable spare key? My local stealership and locksmiths don't want to do it unless they sell you the key first!
Anyone have experience/success with Internet companies offering to sell and program a key based on key code or VIN # ???
The Acura TSX 09 switchblade key seems to work the for Accord 08 Coupe - but again, WHO will program and cut the key correctly without the stealership pricing?
How about a replacement remote start fob?
I'll try to duplicate my button pressing start sequence any post it - in case others have OEM starters but broken fobs:-)

Yeah, you discovered the dealer-add-on remote starter. Press lock 3 times to activate. It reads pulses on the lock motor wire, so you could actually start the car by pressing lock on your door 3 times. At my previous job, I was the guy that went to the dealerships and installed them when a customer wanted to add remote start to their new car. The problem with the add-on systems is that once the car is running, you have to use the key in the door cylinder to unlock the doors. The factory keyless entry system is disabled automatically when the car is running. Plus you're limited to the factory remote's 40-50ft range. I normally recommend a 1-button system (http://www.avital.com/products/Product.aspx?id=5005) to my customers that have their remote built onto the key. This way, you get extended range (~1000ft), plus pressing the button a second time will unlock the doors once the remote start is active. By the way, like you mentioned, there is no way to stop the vehicle with the remote since the buttons on the remote are inactive once the car starts. You have to get into the vehicle and press the brake, or let it time out.

There is NO factory remote start. On Hondas in general, it was only a Dealer-Installed option. The remote start fob display you might see at your dealership is a unit that the dealer would have to install in your vehicle.
